Cambridge Progression Maths and English assessment windows for 2014/15 are available below.
English and maths qualifications under Section 96 can be used to meet the study programmes and form part of the English and maths progression. Cambridge Progression qualifications are approved under section 96 for this purpose. A condition of the funding, requires providers to put learners without a GCSE grade A*- C on an English and maths programme.
To meet the funding condition, providers must use GCSE, Functional Skills or FSMQ. However, Functional Skills and FSMQ are seen as ‘stepping stones’ to GCSE and it is the intention that the requirement becomes GCSE only once the revised qualifications are in place. For study programmes, we position Cambridge Progression as additional support to help learners achieve the GCSE or Functional Skills threshold – so part of the programme rather than the main aim itself.
Our new OCR Cambridge Award/Certificate in English qualifications are the replacement for Adult Literacy Basic Skills and have been built on our RSA heritage of providing relevant skills-based qualifications. These new qualifications enable you to specifically develop a learners needs in the area/s they need so they can step off or progress on to their next learning aim.
